Suhum is the capital of Abkhazia, a small unrecognized republic on the Oriental Black Sea shore. On a hill above the city lies the park of a medical monkey research institute set up by the Soviets in the 1920s.
Legend says it was set up to create a hybrid between man and monkey. The creature has never been conceived,
just as neither the New Man of Communism has ever been born.
Today, humans and monkeys are trapped in a war-torn territory
and decades of cruelty,
being both victims of unsuccessful series of experiments.
